A Positive Attitude To Losing Weight
I am somebody who has been obese for the majority of my life. I would find myself comfort eating due to the fact that I had a stressful career within the pet insurance industry – food was my main way of gaining pleasure in my hectic world.
Like no doubt many of the readers of this article have done I used to basically starve myself to weight loss believing that this would provide me with the results that I was yearning for. As you have probably already worked out this form of dieting did not bring me the success that I was looking for. Yes it would provide me with some short term results but I could just not sustain this lack of eating and would always end up returning to my original weight – OVERWEIGHT.
I was then quite lucky to receive some very good advice from a friend of mine who is a fostering consultant. He was a person that had also battled to control his own weight but had now managed to lose weight successfully. He then continued to tell me about the ways in which he had managed to do this~He was a person that had also battled to control his own weight but had now managed to lose weight successfully. What he had decided to do was to change his whole approach to dieting and weight loss. He had often seen it as one massive choir and effort, an effort that he never truly believed would result in a successful outcome. This he soon realised was a very negative way at looking at things which no doubt was always likely to end with a negative result.
He then decided to turn full circle and to think in a far more positive way – he had been to see a psychic reader who had given him the inspiration to see weight loss not as a choir but as a form of hobby.
Within his overall hobby of losing weight he would have additional hobbies. These included playing tennis, badminton and football.
He set himself goals of where he wanted to be, weight wise, at the end of each month for example and worked hard to attain these goals. These sports were not only able to help him to reduce his waistline they also enabled him to have a much more active and fulfilled social life.
I decided to follow my friends lead and took a similar approach. This is probably not ideal or even suitable for reasons such as health for some people but it certainly helped me and my friend to feel a lot better about ourselves and our weight.
